108 Fortune 500 Enterprises Settled in Chengdu

According to the statistics from Chengdu Commercial Bureau, 363 foreign-invested projects in Chengdu were newly approved in 2006, up by 21.8% year-on-year; 107 projects with increased capital, up by 23.0% year-on-year. Based on the statistics from the MOFCOM, the contractual foreign capital of the direct foreign investment was USD2.05b, up by 41.7% year-on-year; the actual usage of foreign capital was USD760m, up by 36.6% year-on-year. Last year there were eight Fortune 500 enterprises set up foreign-invested companies, branches or offices in Chengdu. They were KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Canadian Manulife Insurance, Deutsche FedEx, ABN AMRO Bank, Best Buy, Sino-German Allianz Life Insurance, Japanes FUJITSU, and American Carrier. By the end of the year there were 108 Fortune 500 enterprises settled in Chengdu. Among them 37 set up 45 foreign-invested companies; 28 set up branches; 43 set up representative offices or offices.
