China Becomes the Biggest Digital Camera Supplier in Germany

German usiness-wissen website reported on Dec. 19th, that according to the data released by German Federal Statistical Office on 19th, 32% of German families owned at least one digital camera at the beginning of 2005 and most of the cameras sold in Germany came from China. The total number of imported digital cameras of Germany in 2005 was 15.3m sets worth of EUR1.9b, among which Chinese products, totaled 9.4m, accounted for 61% of all the imported products. Japanese products ranked the second with the number of 2.9m sets, accounting for 19%. The average selling price of cameras made in China is around EUR100 and that from Japan, about EUR230.
