Investigation Shows: A Rapid Growth of Logistics Demand in China

The Survey of National Logistics Statistics of Key Enterprises of 2006 showed that currently Chinese logistics demand is growing very quickly and logistics expenditure of enterprises are also increasing rapidly.
The survey jointly released by the Bureau of Economic Operation of the NDRC, the Department of Foreign Trade of the National Bureau of Statistics of China, and China Federation of Logistics and Procurement Agencies has covered statistics on the sales, procurement & logistics activity and expenditure of 1220 key enterprises in the past two years.
Wang Kechen, vice director of the Department of Foreign Trade of the National Bureau of Statistics addressed on the release ceremony that the survey of 1008 industrial and circulation enterprises had shown that the total sales revenue in 2005 was RMB542.6b, up by 22.3% year-on-year with a trend of fast growth, and the total freight volume in 2005 was 300.54m tons, up by 25.5% year-on-year with average storage volume increased by 21.2%.
