MOFCOM and State Administration of Taxation Jointly Released the Catalog of Technologies Introduction Encouraged by China

According to the Circular of the State Council on Several Supplementary Policies for Implementing the Outline of the National Medium and Long-term Science and Technology Development Planning (2006-2020), recently the MOFCOM and the State Administration of Taxation jointly released a Catalog of Technologies Introduction Encouraged by China (hereinafter referred to as the “Catalog”) to encourage enterprises to introduce advanced and applicable technologies from foreign countries and to drive absorption and re-innovation of these technologies.
Based on the proposals put forward by Ministries and Commissions of the State Council of the P.R.C., industrial associations and some of the local commercial departments, the Catalog was finally determined after several assessments done by hundreds of technical and trade experts, and reviews by environment protection professionals and China Academy of Engineering. The Catalog includes 214 technologies of 29 industries such as agriculture, forestry, stock raising, fishery, textile industry, medicine manufacturing, metal refining and processing, etc. Meanwhile, within the Catalog the MOFCOM and the State Administration of Taxation jointly marked 149 technologies that comply with the national provisions on tax reduction and exemption for foreign-invested enterprises for the purposes of enhancing transparency, standardization and operability of the implementation of the preferential tax policies for technological introduction. The Catalog will have an active role in driving enterprises to introduce advanced and applicable technologies, promote the quality and standard of the introduced technologies, enhance absorption and re-innovation capability, and improve core competitiveness.
