Mati Temple

In the Tibetan Autonomous Region, lies the Mati Temple, a famous scenic spot integrating grotto art, mountain views and folk customs of the Yugu people. The temple got its name because a legend goes that a Chinese Pegasus landed here, leaving a huge horse shoe print that can still be seen in the Mati Hall.

If you want to stay here for few days, explore or wander in, you can stay in a Yugu tent, where you can drink chang (Tibetan wine made of barley) and taste the traditional roasted lamb. The nomads here lead a unique life and have many customs. Horse riding is aslo available for the visitors here.
