MOFCOM Issued China Trade in Service Development Report for the First Time
On Dec.28th, the MOFCOM held a news conference in Beijing issuing China Trade in Service Development Report 2006. It is the first time the Report released statistic data of China service trade systematically according to the WTO standards, summarized and compared current status and tendency of the development of trade in services between China and the world, and analyzed each sector of service trade in terms of industry, trade and policy. The issuance of Report filled the vacancy in China service trade field. Hu Jingyan, chief of the Department of Trade in Service of the MOFCOM pointed out in this conference that the speeding up of development of trade in services had become a focus of every country. China should seize the current opportunity for transfer of trade in services the same as they seized the opportunities for the international industrial transfer of manufacturing, and should attach as much importance to the development of trade in services as they did to the development of trade in goods.
