On Dec. 11th, the British Schroders appointed a new principal in charge of Chinese business and also claimed that it was highly concerned about the businesses of qualified foreign institutional investors (QFII) and qualified domestic institutional investors (QDII) that had entered China. A QFII program allow international investors to buy shares and bonds listed in China and a QDII helps Chinese investors get involved in overseas investment. Since Chinese government introduced the QFII system in 2003, there were 40 foreign institutions having offered USD8.65b of QFII quote.
