According to the latest investigation report from Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, Canada was the most open country in the eyes of interviewed Chinese companies and the Chinese companies with intent to investment in Canada will increase by two times within one year. However, the investigation also pointed out that the prioritized order of investment choices of Chinese enterprises were HK and Macao, South Korea, Australia and Canada. According to the investigation the Chinese enterprises with the highest hope to invest in Canada are in the following order of fields: energy, telecommunication, agriculture, forest, biotechnology, minerals, automobile and parts, tourism and so on. The investigation has also found out that most of the interviewed Canadian companies had not planned to invest in China. The short-term Chinese policy of Harper Government is to influence Canadian companies to invest in China, which might well be one of the key factors in expanding business in China. The interviewees of this investigation were members of Canadian Chambers of Manufacturers and Exporters.
